My tip this week is around HOW TO CREATE YOUR OWN PATH

What does it take to create your own unique trail? Walking through the dunes in the desert, I feel like I am walking on unchartered territory. I see no footprints anywhere around me. This makes me feel like I am able to create any path of my choice. Just by walking my path is being carved out before my eyes.

Here are my 3 tips that I use to unleash a transfomation:

Tip #1: Discover my new perspective 
• I can continually see new perspectives along a journey.
• Clarity can come by adjusting this perspective.

Tip #2: Carve out your own path 
• Choose what is important to you.
• Our path is a work of art, not unlike a drawing or sculpture.

Tip #3: Pick an element to add or remove to enable your transformation 
• Water minus the element of warmth = ice.
• Baby steps can cause for huge transformations.

My tip this month is around unleashing your vision!

What does it take to unleash your vision? For me it’s about taking the images from the canvas and bring them into life. Guiding them from the vision in my mind and bring them into reality. I have learned much from my paintings. This series of painting is guiding my way to my dreams. Come along with me on this journey. In this painting, the horse depicted has taught me a lesson while it is making a leap up the cliff, watch the video. . .

Here are my 3 tips that I use in unleashing my vision:

Tip #1: Listen to your “Coincidences”
• This brings the energy that we have of our vision slowly into reality.
• Small steps leading to our wildest dream.
  

Tip #2: Celebrate where you are today
• Look at where you were a year ago.
• Get out of just doing,enjoy the journey.
• Celebration re-energizes our desire to move forward.
• We can see the steps along our way and put them back into perspective.
  

Tip #3: Divide your goals into 4 steps of time
• Our dreams can seem far out.
• At each step on our way we can see the next step that we want to gallop off to.

Play and create, let’s do it! 2012 is going to be a year of serious play for me, what about for you? How high on the list is it to you, and WHAT are your going to do about it?

Just like painting, drawing, playing with clay, or sand, use figurines like playmobile and lego we can recreate our world for us. When we do this we can look into our lives as if looking through a window. We can glance in, see a whole new perspective of ourselves, including our personal and work environment. Here we can sketch up a scenario and feel it even before jumping into it. We can move things around, add and take away factors, and generally prepare the waters and warm up to our big dreams!

Just this week, my friend Susan shared with me the concept of family constellation with playmobile. What a fun project this was! I created a whole scenario for the year ahead! The picture to the right is a snapshot detail within the scenario. The energy that was created was so beautiful. To me this method was a like a collage of paintings and claysculptures.

Play play play! This of course resonated with me so closely because of my fascination of my own toy collection, yes I have a collection of scale transformers and figurines from my college days. It’s time for this collection to find it’s proper place as well!

What about you? Do you have a collection of two that could use another look at, fascination with? I believe that there is a deeper meaning to these collections, that deserves some time to play with.

This was yet another fortification of if I believe that if we can dream it, we can do it. The steps to get there are often revealed along the way. Playing with materials has allowed met to let things my ideas bloom before my eyes.

Here are my 4 core tips to consciously playing that have helped me!

Tip #1: Take your play time seriously

• Play time is just that: time to play. An important factor of playing is expression!
• Keep on expressing what comes up and don’t worry what that look likes.

Tip #2: Identify convenient material to play with.

• Start to play with what you have. Be aware that going out to buy that perfect paint or figuring might be a form of resistance and procrastination.
• Play with rocks, drawing cutouts, marbles, memorabilia, magazine cut outs, pictures, food, paperclips, sand, clay. . .whatever you have handy. If you look around the space that you are in right now what can you use to play with?

Tip #2: Set an intention to your play session.

• An initial intention can be “to have fun playing,”
• When your intention is focused around a particular topic, stay open to whatever comes up, you can use play to actively play out different scenarios. Focusing on a topic allows further exploration.

Tip #3: Integrate your AHA moments and insights into ACTION.

• Make a goal around your insight so that your dream scenario can happen.
• Typically each New Year starts off with an inivincible bang of insight, dreams etc. All too soon when reality kicks in. . .we may find self doubt. Keep going!
• Join an accountability program where you are held accountable for creativity at play.

Today, December 21st is Winter Solstice (In the Northern Hemisphere)! This means that it is the longest night of the year! From tomorrow onwards every day is going to start getting longer again!
